I always seem to pick the rainy / windy days to go explore the Whitsundays. This tour of Daydream Extreme really lived up to its name!! I went out with Di who also works at Magnums, so we shared a jet ski. We met down at Abel Point Marina where we got introduced to the rest of the group. Our tour guides for the trip were Steve and Alex. The briefing took about 45 minutes and then we got geared up into our wetsuits/jackets and safety gear. We also got a choice of activities to choose from to participate in at Daydream – Private fish feeding, snorkeling, mini golf or tube riding. We chose private fish feeding as a group!!
All ready to go!! Me being a little nervous as I have never driven a jet ski before let Di be the driver on the way over. Alex and Steve were very encouraging and explained everything about the jet skis. No experience needed to drive these high powered jet skis.
On the way out thank God I was not driving but holding onto my life as we were jumping over waves!! One wave went straight over us, but it was so much fun. The jet skis handled very well in these conditions.
As we got closer to Daydream, the waves got smaller and I could once again see out of my sunglasses!! We got our pictures taken out the front of Lover’s Cove where you could go snorkeling while staying at Daydream.
Once at Daydream it was time to get warm and have lunch. A $30 food voucher was given to us per jet ski. We had a wide selection of food and drinks to pick from at the Boathouse Bakery. After enjoying a nice warm coffee and cake it was off to explore the island.
We headed to the main accommodation area of Daydream where we got our own private fish feeding tour. We went around the back of the restaurant where we got to see and touch a baby shark in the shark nursery. We even got our photo taken holding one!! We also got to touch and feed the stingrays!! It was so amazing to get so up close and personal with our marine life. Photos to last a life time J Steve and Alex were excellent tour guides with lots of jokes along the way.
Now it was time to head back to the jet skis. The wind had calmed right down and now it was my turn to drive!! Little nervous at the start, but slowly got the hang of it. We did a lap around Daydream Island and visited South Molle.
Travelling home was a nice smooth ride compared to our trip over!! It was so much fun!! Finally back at Abel Point Marina, we were met by Hayley and chocolate bars!! I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who is looking for a fun filled afternoon.
