I had the pleasure of going on the Explore boat to Bait Reef. The weather was awful, by the time I walked down to the boat I was drenched, but that didn’t worry me at all. The crew gave a briefing before we left the docks and gave the guest the option to opt out of the trip if they preferred due to the weather. They did explain that we were going out to the reef if weather permitted, but if it got a bit rough once they crossed the passage they would change the trip to windy weather which was fine.
They provided tea, coffee and hot chocolate all day, with mini muffins and biscuits. The captain kept the guests well informed of the weather conditions, which was great. The staff are fantastic, Victoria spoke to guest to explain the state of the coral very informative. The snorkelling wasn’t great at the first
spot, but it was fairly good on the second spot. They took the dingy out with their looking glass for the guest that didn’t snorkel, and they also provided a babysitting service (which I’m sure is not something they will encourage lol), but guest just dropped their kids of at the steps of the boat and left them there.
They fed the fish from the back of the boat so everyone that didn’t snorkel were able to see them pretty cool!!!
The food was amazing, roast chicken, lamb and silverside, plenty of yummy salads, bread, rolls and wraps. On the way back they provided cheese and biscuits, with salami and dried fruit and they opened the bar.
All in all this was a really great day out and I thoroughly enjoyed the trip.
Big thumbs up for all the crew.
