Recently I had the pleasure of doing the Cruise Whitsunday Reef Sleep. We set off from Abel Point Marina at 8am and took our seats for the 3 hour trip, the weather wasn’t the best when we left so it was a bit of a bumpy ride but the crew were fantastic at making sure everyone was as comfortable as possible.
During this time we enjoyed a delicious morning tea of fresh fruits, biscuits, tea and coffee. The boat also had a bar on board for any soft drink or alcohol purchases.
Once we arrived we were greeted by the crew on the pontoon and given a tour of the area (the weather was a lot nicer as well!). I enjoyed snorkeling, the under water observatory and semi sub tours. There was also the option for massages on the top deck. A massive buffet lunch was served with fresh salads, rolls, prawns and cold meats.
Once the people from the day trip left we were lucky enough to enjoy the pontoon all to ourselves (10 people). We were also given a private tour to the natural water fall on the reef! After that we all sat down to a delicious 3 course meal and a bit of a chat, the food was great and plenty of it. Too much to eat!!
We set up our swags on the top deck and settled in for the night. Wow what a view to go to sleep with.
The following morning we enjoyed a hearty breakfast and another full day of activities before heading home at about 3pm that afternoon.
I was lucky enough to get some amazing photos of the fish, coral and the sun rising over the reef!
Over all it was a great trip and the crew were lovely, I really enjoyed it and would definitely do it again.
