“Perfect as a base to go island hopping!”
We stayed here for 3 nights while we went exploring the Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef.
It’s a 15 minute walk from the Greyhound bus stop and the Cruise Whitsundays terminal but is right next to Woolworths and Macdonalds.
Maccie D’s is particularly useful as the free wifi at Magnums is not great and only seems to work in the middle of the night!
The other facilities are good though with a decent laundry and plenty of washing line space. 2 kitchens are good and the bathrooms are outside which is quirky!
Our double room was small but well fitted out with fridge, cutlery and plates as well as a telly. You have to leave a deposit for the remote but if you are not lazy you can just do it the old fashioned way! If you are in this part of the world, you only need somewhere to get your head down and this is just right for that!

The hostel itself is massive and the staff are friendly! They have 2 kitchens, one either end of the hostel and a laundry room next door to one of the kitchens. They have free 24/7 wifi in the BBQ area which is a bonus and a bar attached which is a double bonus.
The dorms aren’t amazing but they are liveable and it’s an easy place to put your head down for the night.

Great location and they have an in house travel agency so you can book anything you want there, which is very handy. The hostel is kind of in the middle of a jungle but the rooms are nice and big. There is also a bar/club at the hostel

“Best Hostel I’ve been to”
We booked to stay at magnums for 2 nights because we were in Airlie Beach to do a Whitsunday Islands cruise. However I wish we had stayed longer, I was definitely not ready to leave! The place was so lively and we were able to sit in the ‘beer garden’ both Tuesday and Wednesday night and there still be live music and loads of people about. One of my favourite things was it being right next door to a McDonald’s too. The room was lovely and everything was clean! Would DEFINITELY recommend to stay here it was so much fun!

“Good Budget Option with Helpful Staff”
I stayed here in a single room with a double bed and television over the course of five nights last week and would gladly do so again.
Whilst obviously being a backpackers’ hostel, the room was modest in size (but certainly adequate, clean and comfortable) and had shared bathrooms (two toilets and shower facilities between six units), it was conveniently located right in the middle of the main street with the shoreline and swimming lagoon just across the road, a supermarket next door and a good range of pubs and clubs only a stone throw away and featured a well thought-out rainforest garden (which the timber buildings blended into) which provided a great sense of serenity notwithstanding the town central location.
But the best part was the staff, who were extremely helpful and went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. I felt more like a welcome guest than a paying customer.
For good option on a modest budget, I would certainly recommend this.

“Central, Easy, Well Managed”
This is a great hostel, centrally located, good dorms, beds, and friendly staff. Double rooms are available (small) and there is a discount for booking 4 nights I think. Woolworths is right next door for food, and the hotel kitchens are great!
Only downsides are; the wifi is really slow, and I don’t remember there being lockers in the dorms.

We used this hostel as a pre and post whitsundays accommodation. The hostel is really nice, clean and the staff are helpful. You can store your bags whilst away for free. The only issue is if you need to get something out, its only open on the hour for 5 mins. You can store your valuables for free at reception. The kitchen isn’t very big or well equipped but it’s manageable. Free wifi but it’s so slow. My one complaint is the shower in the room was not working, you’d be showering then all of a sudden it goes cold. Good location next to woolworths and bws. There is a pub within the hostel which serves food. You cannot BYO alcohol. Would recommend.

“Great Experience at Magnums”
We stayed at magnums for 4 nights and it felt like we had our own private condo. The room had a mini fridge, kettle, plates, bowls and cutlery right in the room. Perfect for keeping our food and drinks there and using our own stuff for breakfast and snacks. The toilet and showers were right beside our room so nice and easy to access. Kitchen was massive compared to other hostels we have stayed at and pretty clean too. Lots of cool friendly people staying there mostly backpackers and other travellers. It’s right across the street from woolworths, liquor store tons of shops restaurants and cafes. Across the street from the lagoon beach walk and local market on Saturdays. Airlie is a beauty place to check out if you’re doing a trip down the coast! It just felt nice and secluded in the jungle with free wifi(which didn’t work on the last night) but it’s free so can’t really complain too much. If you’re in Airlie Beach, Magnums is the place to stay for sure.

“Such a fun hostel!”
We stayed here before and after our whitsundays cruise for a total of about 6 or 7 nights and we had the best time. The fellow backpackers were all so much fun and the staff were laid back and friendly. We had a wee bit of a party one night on our porch and the manager gave us a gentle warning but nothing more – thank you for that! Big dorm rooms with toilet and shower, enough plugs for charging etc and a fridge in the room. The cabins are set within winding pathways and trees everywhere so you feel like you’re saying in your own little private bit. Definitely recommend!
